Chemical Stability | At normal storage temperatures, chlorhexidine and its salts are stable in the powdered state; however, in aqueous solutions, the salts of chlorhexidine can be hydrolyzed to form 4-chloroaniline and the rate of hydrolysis increases markedly above 100°C and increases with increasing or decreasing pH (below pH 5.6). |
